A little over a half-foot of snow blanketed Anchorage for the Iditarod’s ceremonial kickoff Saturday. In Nome, local and state groups are working together to make snowmachining safer – with free helmets for kids. And Animal Care and Control in Anchorage is buried in bunnies.
