The Alaska Department of Education and Early Development failed a test that allows it to include millions of federal dollars toward its contribution to education funding. The Trump administration’s 2026 budget proposal calls for the elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts, which provides funding to art institutions nationwide. And Anchorage police have identified a man officers shot and killed earlier this week.
