The City of Kodiak is bringing back its New Year’s Eve firework show this weekend for the first time in over a decade. The show starts on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Oscar’s Spit, near St. Paul Harbor. Fireworks should be visible from anywhere facing downtown Kodiak.
“We’re excited to celebrate New Year’s Eve with a fireworks display for Kodiak residents and visitors along our city’s iconic waterfront,” said the city’s mayor, Pat Branson, in a press release.
The forecast for Sunday includes clouds, rain, and snow with winds up to 30 miles per hour. If the show is canceled for weather on New Year’s Eve, it will be rescheduled to January 1st, New Year’s Day, at 7 p.m.
