RavnAir Alaska cancelled its Kodiak flights on Saturday as part of a system wide precaution following a Friday cyber-attack on the company’s I-T network, according to a release posted on the airlines website.

Ravn Dash 8 fights were grounded because the cyber-attack forced the airline to disconnect its Dash 8 maintenance system and its back-up, the company said.

It described the the attack as “malicious,” and said it was working with the FBI, and other authorities, as well as a cyber-security company.

On Friday, Ravn said it proactively cancelled the Dash-8 flights, including the Anchorage-to-Kodiak-to-Anchorage flights 890 and 891. The airline had hoped to have the Dash-8 back online and operating by Saturday afternoon. Passengers were rebooked when possible.

In a release posted on Saturday, RavnAir said it appreciated the ongoing patience and understanding of its customers and business partners during this challenging time.

The company said its PenAir flights and RavnAir Connect flights were operating normally on back-up systems.
