COVID Update Reader 08 /18/2021
The latest Kodiak COVID 19 outbreak continues.
Today (Wednesday) the Kodiak Emergency Operations Center reported five (5) new cases of COVID 19 for the Kodiak Island Borough.
Four (4) cases are close contacts of previously reported cases, and one (1) case is classified as community spread.
One hundred twenty-two (122) cases are currently classified as active locally. There are five (5) cases currently hospitalized in Kodiak, and the Emergency Room remains busy with patients seeking COVID related care.
To date, one thousand four hundred fifty-eight (1458) cases, sixty-five (65) hospitalizations, and five (5) deaths have been associated with COVID 19 for the Kodiak Island Borough.
Residents are encouraged to stay home if ill, socially distance, and wear masks where appropriate.
Vaccinations are available in Kodiak. Contact your health provider if you would like to be vaccinated.
