All schools and Kodiak College are closed today due to the weather. Air Station Kodiak closed to non-essential personnel. USCG Base Kodiak: work is canceled for Base Kodiak today. The Child Development Center is also closed. Kodiak Public Library is closed. Senior Center of Kodiak is closed and the KATS bus will not be running today. Kodiak Community Health Center is closed for the day. North Pacific Medical Center is closed for the day. Kodiak Island Housing Authority is closed for the day. Providence Kodiak Island Counseling Center is closed. Kodiak Public Health Center is closed. Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) facilities are closed today. Creighton Chiropractic Clinic is closed until 2pm on Thursday. All Kodiak Island Borough facilities are closed. Many businesses, including banks, are closed as well – call ahead before you make the effort to drive. Kodiak Police department is advising road travel only if absolutely necessary. The blizzard warning is in effect until noon today with winds gusting as high as 45 mph and more snow predicted.
