An offshoot of Barack Obama's grassroots campaign organization is gearing back up in Alaska, just in time to help support the president's agenda as it goes through congress. Jonathan Teeters is the director of Organizing for America in Alaska. Besides the three largest cities, Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau, he's also going to visit Dillingham and Kodiak.

--          (OFA 1            41 sec              "It's sort of the next step ... taking some direct action.")

Teeters has embarked on a five-city listening tour around the state. Besides the three largest cities, Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau, he's also going to visit Dillingham and Kodiak.

--          (OFA 2            54 sec              "Obviously I had to go ... like to see happen again.")

Though the Organizing for America tour is an initiative of the President's, it's run by the Democratic National Committee. But Teeters says everyone is welcome, just as they were during the campaign last year:

--          (OFA 3            54 sec              "The Obama Campaign here in ... listen to those supporters.")

The Organizing for America campaign is gearing up as the president tries to make his agenda a reality, by addressing America's woeful healthcare system and the predatory practices of credit card companies, among other issues. Teeters says he wants to hear from regular Alaskans about the topics, and more:

--          (OFA 4            39 sec              "There are pieces of the puzzle ... would like to see happen.")

Teeters will be in Kodiak at the Teen Center two weeks from today on June 2nd, and at the Dillingham Senior Center on June 4th. You can find more information at Barak Obama dot com.
