0             The third annual Made In Kodiak Fall Market is happening over the weekend at the Best Western Kodiak Inn’s Harbor Room. As KMXT’s Casey Kelly reports, there might be a few new faces for people who’ve gone the event in the past.

            Kerry Felton started Made In Kodiak about four years ago, and he’s happy to see it continue to grow and add new members.

            Made In Kodiak now features more than 30 businesses, ranging from artisans to crafters to food and drink producers that live in the Kodiak Archipelago and use the region’s natural resources to make their products. Membership allows them to use the Made In Kodiak label and sell products through the Made In Kodiak dot COM store.

But Felton says the fall market is the group’s one and only yearly event to show off their creations and meet their customers face-to-face.

            Jeff Barnhart has been involved with Made In Kodiak nearly since its inception. His company, Alaska Salmon Leather, makes a variety of products out of salmon skin.

            Barnhart says he’s not surprised that Made In Kodiak has taken off recently.

            The Made In Kodiak fall market is going on tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kodiak Inn’s Harbor Room. Free samples will include coffee from the Great Alaska Bean Company and wine from Alaska Wilderness Wines.
