            Here’s a nautical phrase to add to your vocabulary.
            “Tendering your line smartly.” It’s got to do with the lines and how you tie your vessel to the dock. And it’s one thing you need to know if you have a boat in Kodiak's boat harbors.
            Deputy Kodiak Harbormaster Lon White explains that vessel owners—from small skiffs to big fishing vessels, need to keep tabs on their boat and ensure that it’s properly tied to the dock

    And keeping your vessel safe and sound is the goal of the harbor office staff as we head into winter’s strong winds and heavy snow:

    And what happens if you don’t keep checking on your boat, White says that even the most unsinkable boat eventually succumbs when loaded with enough rain, snow and ice:
