There is still no resolution to the very close Alaska State House District 36 Democratic Primary Election.

Shelly Grouden with the Alaska Division of Elections, says there are about 27 absentee oversees ballots for District 36 that arrived by yesterday's deadline. She doesn't however, know how the ballots fall along party lines, much less how many of them are split between Democrats Andy Lundquist and Dave Kaplan.

Lundquist has a slight 18-vote lead over Kaplan, 597 to 579. Lundquist lead by seven votes after the August 26 election, and gained 11 more after absentee and questioned ballots were tallied.

Grouden says the absentee overseas ballots will be counted and the election certified on Wednesday, September 17th.

Reached by phone last evening, Kaplan said he won't be conceding just yet, and will be keeping his campaign signs up.

Lundquist is still in Mount Vernon, Washington, attending to his ailing mother.
