While the Kodiak Island Borough searches for a new manager, the director of the borough's community development department has been filling in. Bud Cassidy gave the borough assembly a brief update of on-going projects at Thursday night's meeting.

-- (Bud 1          21 sec              "As you know we've hired ... Engineering and Facilities Department.")

Trash blowing onto private property from the landfill on Monashka Bay Road has been a problem for the borough, which Cassidy says staff is addressing:

-- (Bud 2          22 sec              "I want to mention the landfill ... resolve those kinds of things.")

He also gave an update on the work in the buildings housing the Engineering and Facilities Department, which included students in the construction process:

-- (Bud 3          17 sec              "The student portion of work ... that portion of the project.")

The Assembly meets next in a work session this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room in the borough building.
