Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak aircrews conducted a rescue on the 200-foot trawler, Ocean Peace, around 100 miles northwest of Adak yesterday morning.

A crewmember, 25 year-old Joemar Lontoc, was cleaning a fish processing machine when it was reported to have accidentally activated and severely lacerated his wrist.

The Coast Guard received a report from the Ocean Peace crew Tuesday afternoon requesting assistance.

Coast Guard spokeswoman Charlie Hengen explained the details of the rescue that started Tuesday night and ended Wednesday morning.
