The deadline to file as a candidate in the October 6th Regular Borough Election has passed. The good news is that Darlene Turner is no longer the only person that's filed for one of the many open positions. KMXT news reported that Turner was the only name on the list of candidates by close of business on Friday. As the filing deadline drew closer Monday (yesterday) afternoon, more candidates made their way to the Borough Clerk's office to submit paperwork.

Two borough assembly seats are open for three year terms. Filing for a shot at those seats are Dave King, Jerrol Friend, Chris Lynch and Steven Branson. There are two school board seats open for three year terms. Two current board members, Norm Wooten and Petal Ruch have filed for re-election to those seats.

The Womens Bay Road Service Area Board has two seats open and Dave Conrad has filed for one of them. Rebecca Nelson has filed for one of two seats on the Fire Protection Area No. 1 Board. And of course there's Darlene Turner who has filed for one of two openings on the Monashka Bay Road Service area Board. No applicants have applied for either of the two seats on the Bay View Road Service Area Board or the Service Area No. 1 Board.

The filing deadline to declare candidacy was Monday, August 17 at 4:30 pm.
