Meeting overseas visitors to Kodiak is almost a weekly occurrence this summer, given the record number of cruise ships calling on our town. What's less common though, is meeting someone touring the state by bicycle. KMXT's Jay Barrett met one such traveler from England while at the Ham Radio Field Day at Fort Abercrombie over the weekend. Jacob Bigio says he's loved his trip so far, and the only drawback he's encountered is the fact that, at 20, he's too young to buy beer. After a day of biking, he said he would like nothing more than a cold pint to quench his thirst. The drinking age in his native England is 18.
