            At Tuesday night's assembly work session Kodiak Island Borough Mayor Jerome Selby gave a sneak preview of his plan for using what money may be forthcoming from the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill punitive damages case.

            Selby said a number of years ago the borough created a plan for its share of the EVOS money, but given how little the pay out will actually be, he'd like to propose a new plan: put it all toward a new Kodiak High School.

            Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center's Hospital Auxiliary is conducting its Angels of Love holiday tree program again this year. For a 10-dollar donation, you can honor someone who has been, or is dear to you by dedicating an angel to them on one of the hospital's holiday trees. KMXT's Erik Wander has more.

           A doctor and a nurse from the Kodiak Community Health Center made the first of what they plan to be regular visits to Kodiak's Brother Francis Shelter last night. Doctor Bill Arnold is the medical director at the center.

            The oldest building in the state of Alaska and the earliest documented log structure on the west coast of the United States is about to get makeover, thanks in part to a federal grant. The 200-year-old Baranov Museum will be closed in January and February in order to upgrade its electrical and fire suppression systems. KMXT's Erik Wander has more.
