A swarm of earthquakes have occurred in the Kodiak Island region over the past day and a half. The most recent was a 4.7 temblor at 9:38 this morning centered 105 miles south of Kodiak City. A larger 5.4 magnitude quake struck at 11:13 p.m. last night, about 80 miles south of Old Harbor. Aftershocks of 3.9 and 3.4 shook the area shortly afterwards.

A total of 10 earthquakes have occurred since yesterday morning, six on Sunday and four this morning. A spokesperson at the Alaska Earthquake Information Center said 50 calls were received from people who felt the largest one, some from as far away as Anchorage, 350 miles away.

The Alaska State Troopers have not received any reports of damage or injuries.
