Scores of librarians will descend on Kodiak Friday for the annual Alaska Library Association meeting. City of Kodiak Library Director Joe D'Elia describes it as a learning opportunity for the participants, many of whom come from small communities.

The Alaska Library Association convention starts on Friday. The keynote address by Willie Hensley at 9:15 Saturday morning in the Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium is open to the public. Other speakers include Father Michael Oleksa and Kodiak's Sven Haakanson. For more information, go to the association's website .
