An Anchorage-based band with Kodiak connections will bring its mix of classic rock and country-inspired music to Kodiak next week after the release of its first CD.

Singer-song-writer Joe Lind, frontman and co-founder of Premium Blend along with his brother, bass player Pat Lind, said the two lived in Kodiak for about five years in their youth when their father was a crab fisherman. The two brothers are also former commercial fishermen themselves.

--          (Premium Blend 1                  18 sec.             "We used to be commercial ... having a lot of friends.")

Lind said the band has been together for nearly 18 years, but that until now, they've performed primarily as a cover band. They're now making their first foray into original music. He also said he's looking forward to returning to Kodiak, where he has performed before with other groups, but not with Premium Blend. He's excited about treating the Kodiak audience to a fun evening of live music and dancing.

--          (Premium Blend 2                  38 sec.             "We finally got around to ... dance some more.")

Premium Blend will perform songs off its newly released CD, "6 More," live at the El Chicano bar on February 13th and will perform at a private Valentine's Day dinner and dance engagement at the Coast Guard base the next night.
