The Kodiak City Council won't be having very many meetings this fall. Last Thursday the council unanimously approved the cancellation of all its November meetings, which City Manager Aimee Kniaziowski recommended due to scheduling conflicts the whole month.
“The holidays approach and it’s more difficult for us to get together and have meetings and November has proven to be a really difficult month this year. We have travel planned, of course there’s the week long AML meeting, which is very important that both elected officials and staff attend that.”
The council also authorized Kniaziowski to call a special meeting if need be, and if a quorum of council members could be present.
Cancelling November’s meetings means the council will be extra busy in December and January.
“It will create some very long agendas as we move forward, especially for December, that ought to be pretty sizeable from the looks of the preliminary list.”
As for the rest of October, the council will hold a work session on the 22, followed by a regular meeting October 24. The Kodiak Borough Assembly will hold a regular meeting this Thursday and wrap up the month with a work session on the 31st, Halloween Day.
