A Kodiak brown bear cub that lit up Facebook this week after pictures of it on the Coast Guard Base circulated, had to be euthanized yesterday.
Fish and Game biologist Larry Van Daele said the cub was nothing but skin and bones and was apparently abandoned by its mother and siblings. He said there was no way it could last the winter alone.
We’ll have more on the KMXT evening report tonight at 5 p.m.
