The
Kodiak Rodeo and State Fair is coming up this weekend. Susan Killary came in
the other morning and chatted with Terry Haines on the air about it. Since the
event is on Saturday and Sunday, she says vendors or people who are entering
items for judging, should best get them in on Friday.
The
Kodiak Rodeo and State Fair is on Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at noon both days.
-- (Rodeo 1 29 sec "For those people who are ... help
you fill that out.")
Haines
asked Killary about some of the events included in the rodeo, many of which get
kids involved in the action:
-- (Rodeo 2 23 sec "What the heck is a calf-scramble
... no, they won't.")
Killary
said it would be great if parents of youngsters interested in the calf-scramble
or the boot race filled out the permission slip in advance of the event they're
available on the rodeo and fair organization's website.
Sometime
Saturday afternoon, Killary says, the Rodeo Court will be introduced:
-- (Rodeo 3 39 sec "Can
I mention our Rodeo Court ... They're great, they're prepared.")
Another
crowd favorite, which drew a lot of participation during its first time in the
fair last year, will be coming back, too:
-- (Rodeo 4 30 sec "Again
back by popular demand ... imagination on those cupcakes.")
