Kodiak chef Joel Chenet has made a tradition of turning the first salmon of the season into a five-course seafood feast. This year the event will be on Sunday and benefit the Kodiak Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Kodiak Alutiiq Dancers.

The dinner is at the VFW hall on Monashka Bay Road. Doors open for hors d'oeuvres at 5:30, with dinner - for up to 65 diners - being served at 7. Tickets are available at the Sun'aq Tribe office downtown and at Mill Bay Coffee.

KMXT's Jay Barrett spoke with Chef Chenet about what diners can expect.
