The 11 and 12 year-old boys Little League all star team is up in Kenai playing for a spot in Anchorage’s district tournament. They won their first game Wednesday against Kenai, with a score of 7 to 3.

One of the assistant coaches during the regular season, Les James, called in with this update on the win:

(James 1                     :55s     “…one of the better teams.”)

The Little League all star boys must finish in the top three out of five in this tournament in order to make the trip to Anchorage for the district finals. They played Homer, at 8 o’ clock last night, and won with a final score of 7 to 5. They are scheduled to play Cordova at 8 p.m. tonight, and Soldotna on Sunday at 5 p.m.
