The Kodiak Police Department has put out a warning that someone is passing off counterfeit $20 bills around town. Lieutenant Kyle Valerio says the fake bills started showing up over the weekend, and were spotted by cash-handling merchants.

He said the police are trying to track the distribution of the counterfeit 20s, and is asking people to keep their eyes open for them.

If you suspect you've been given a fake $20 bill, the phone number to report them to the police is 486-8000.
