Creek will be upgraded from six feet to eight feet in diameter. On the Chiniak
Highway, some debris will be excavated and riprap will be added to stabilize
the road embankment at milepost six-point-two and 12-point-four.
Work will also be conducted in
several fish streams. A small amount of wetland fill may be required at milepost
10-point-9 of Rezanof Drive
where an existing cross culvert will be replaced. Some vegetation may be cleared
to provide equipment access.
Public comments and recommendations
for the project will be accepted by D-O-T until April 1st.
The work is expected to begin this
summer and traffic delays or temporary closures are likely.
