This evening a public meeting about proposed changes to the Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park will take place at Kodiak High School.

Revised plans for changes to the park will be introduced at the meeting.

In December, proposed development in the park was met with strong public opposition. At the heart of the controversy is a plan to build a bus turnaround north of the Miller Point campground.

Last week, a public meeting was held to introduce a draft preservation plan for the historical World War Two structures of Fort Abercrombie. The following is a sample of some of the dialogue that took place Thursday night. Most of the speakers did not identify themselves before speaking.

Tonight's night's public meeting about proposed changes to the park will begin at 5 p.m. in the Kodiak High School commons.
