            The seeding and brackets for the Northern Lights Conference basketball tournament have been released, and it has Kodiak High School Bears facing the Soldotna Stars in both the boys' and girls' first games.

            The Lady Bears are seeded number three team in the NLC's North Division, and will be playing the south's number two team. The Kodiak boys are seeded fourth and will face the top team in the south. The Lady Bears start play at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, while the boys take to the court at 1:15 p.m.

            The seeding for the girls in the North Conference has Wasilla first, followed by Colony, Kodiak and Palmer. In the South, Kenai is first, followed by SoHi, Skyview and Homer.

            For the boys in the North, Wasilla is first, followed by Colony, Palmer and Kodiak. In the South, SoHi is first, followed by Kenai, Homer and Skyview.

            The regional tournament takes place this year at Skyview High School in Soldotna, with action among the 16 teams starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, and continuing until Saturday night with the championship games.

            The top three teams from the Northern Lights Conference will advance to the state championships, which begin on Monday, March 15th, at Sullivan Sports Arena in Anchorage.
