borough ballot were two assembly seats, two school board seats, several board
seats for service areas and two propositions.
talked about Proposition 1 for expansion and remodeling of Kodiak High School
passed by a slim margin. 1,281 "yes" votes to 1,114 "no".
proposition was a vote for bond sales to finance maintenance of borough
buildings. That measure was defeated by 248 votes.
Rick Gifford says that the defeat of that measure may put a strain on the
assembly certifies the vote at tonight's meeting, Chris Lynch and Jerrol Friend
will be sworn in for second terms. Lynch won with 1,268 votes and Friend with
1,063. Also running for those seats were David King who received 928 votes and
Steve Branson who received 774.
and Petal Ruch ran unopposed and were re-elected to the school board for three
9,649 registered voters on Kodiak. Of that number, 2,480, or 25 per cent, voted
in the October 6th election.
