The Alaska State Ferry Tustumena is still on schedule after a minor mishap Wednesday morning on the Kodiak waterfront. Coast Guard Chief Jay Culkins said the fishing vessel Excalibur II was pushed against the Tusty by the wind and tide as it was trying to depart the adjacent Trident Seafoods dock.

--          (Tusty 1                      25 sec              "The fishing vessel Excalibur II ... get out of the way.")

He said the damage to the Tusty was superficial:

--          (Tusty 2                      10 sec              "It was just some very ... paint that got scraped off.")

Even incidents like that, however, need to be reported to the Coast Guard:

--          (Tusty 3                      25 sec              "It was considered a ... nothing that needs to be repaired.")

Culkins said that there was only superficial damage to the Excalibur 2, as well.
