Military veterans in Kodiak recently had a chance to get assistance from a veteran's entitlement expert. Scott Thorstad is a state service officer for the Veterans of ForeignWars. Thorstad travels around the state to provide free consultations to veterans regarding their V-A entitlements.

When Thorstad came to Kodiak, KMXT's Diana Gish went to the Alaska job center to ask some questions of her own and to see how things were going.

The VFW rep says he plans to return to Kodiak in four months to offer more free consultations with veterans.

Thorstad had to catch his flight out before he could get to Diana's other question. He's offered to finish the session by phone from his Anchorage office. The VFW rep says he plans to return to Kodiak in four months to offer more free consultations with veterans.
