Creelman was selected for the honor at a conference in Seward. Creelman has
practiced family medicine in Kodiak for 27 years. KMXT's Diana Gish has more.

Conference. Doctor Creelman received many nominations from colleagues and
patients. Although he was reluctant to talk about himself, I spoke with Creelman
about the recently bestowed honor.

coming to Kodiak Creelman served three years for the Public Health Service in Kotzebue
and three more years at an Anchorage clinic.
to a busy clinic and hospital practice in Kodiak, Creelman has been a physician
for the Kodiak Red Cross, a supervisor of local EMT's and a medical director of
clinics in Sand Point, Cold Bay and the Afognak Logging Company. He's provided
free weekly foot care clinics to the Kodiak Senior Center and has covered a
weekly 24-hour ER shift for all of his years in Kodiak.
Physician of the Year Award is the highest honor given to a member of the
Alaska Academy of Family Physicians. One of the many people who nominated
Creelman for the award wrote that "Kodiak is fortunate to call him our own."
