The Kodiak City Council will declare the seat of Councilman Jack Maker vacant at the regular meeting tomorrow night. From that point, the council will have 30 days to fill the vacancy. Maker submitted his resignation after moving outside of city limits.

City Clerk Debra Marlar said she will advertise for applicants through July 13th, and the council will conduct interviews with them at the July 21st work session. An appointment will be made at the regular meeting on July 23rd.

That person will serve until the October municipal elections, at which time the seat will be on the ballot to fill out the last year of Maker's term.
