Kodiak's 10th annual Soap Box Derby  took place under perfect weather conditions Saturday. KMXT's Diana Gish was there and recorded some of the sounds and voices of the event.

In the Stock Class, Niquolas Medina took first place, with Nick Doerkson second. The "Best Looking" Stock Car award went to Chelsea Jackson.

In the Super Stock Class, first place went to Madison Kersch, and coming in second was J. Berkley Kersch. The "Best Looking" Super Stock car award was awarded to Joseph Doerkson.

Kodiak's Soap Box Derby also provided an opportunity to help a local family. The Lion's Club auxiliary group, "The Leo's," raised over 700 dollars for the Pickett family who lost their home in a fire on Thursday.
