           Friends of Chris Dresdow have been rallying around her for nearly a year now. Dresdow was diagnosed with advanced stage Lyme disease and is paying thousands of dollars each month to fight it. Today's guests Suzanne Bobo and Vic Downing have been fundraising for Dresdow since last spring.

Many can't handle the conditions at sea or the long hours, or it's just too tough for them. Today's guest is former fishing boat captain Jonathan Allen.            On today's show we'll be discussing Russian Christmas and New Year, the history of the church in Kodiak and what it means to be a part of the church. Our guests today are Father Paisius and Father Michael from St. Innocent's, Katie Oliver from the Baranov Museum and Sven Haakanson from the Alutiiq Museum.

            Rusian Christmas is this Saturday, January 7th and the New Year is on January 14th. The Alutiiq Museum will be hosting carolers from the Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Church for Christmas. Refreshments will be provided and the event is open to the public. The time has yet to be announced. You can contact the museum for more information.

            This week host Jacob Resneck speaks with Associate Professor Alexandra Oliveira of the UAF Fisheries Industrial Technology Center which is hosting a delegation from New Zealand to build a partnership between Kodiak and New Zealand. The two-man delegation is Graham Fletcher and TC Chadderton from The New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research who will in turn be hosting Oliveira in coming months as the two institutions collaborate in seafood research.
