The purpose of this campaign is to educate and inform the Kodiak community about how to reduce energy consumption, recycle resources and products and reuse rather than discard materials.
Did you know Alaskans spend more money powering home audio systems and DVD machines when they are off than when they are actually in use? Living rooms are home to most of the electronics in your house. Your family watches T.V. turns on computers and picks up the phone in your living area and these phantom loads add costs because they continue to draw power when electronics are not in use. By plugging a number of electronics into power strips and turning off the power strips when you leave the room you save energy and money.

This energy saving tip is brought to you by The Next Page – 3833 East Rezanof Drive.
