The purpose of this campaign is to educate and inform the Kodiak community about how to reduce energy consumption, recycle resources and products and reuse rather than discard materials.
Did you know that composting is gaining in popularity? In fact, composting at home will be just as commonplace as recycling aluminum cans is today. As land fill space becomes scarce and expensive, you can keep a lot of materials from reaching our local landfill by composting your yard and kitchen waste right at home or with neighborhood composting areas. Just by practicing simple composting methods with your family and neighbors, you can effectively reduce your share of 30 per cent of the waste stream in the USA.
