A young Kodiak man was ambushed by a deer while on a motorcycle ride late last week. The Alaska State Troopers report that 22-year-old Robert Juhlin was riding his 2002 Harley Davidson southbound at Mile 22 on the Chiniak Highway, when the deer bolted into the road and struck him in the leg. The incident occurred about 7:30 in the morning on Thursday, the 22nd of July.

Juhlin continued on his ride until he reached an area where he could report the incident and summon medical assistance. The Troopers report that he was wearing a helmet and only suffered unspecified injuries to his leg. The Harley was not damaged.
