            Three Kodiak teen-agers took 2^nd place in a national cooking contests held last week in Chicago.

            The three teens were members of Kodiak's Culinary Arts classes at Kodiak High School and competed against more than 40 other teams in the national competition.

            The competition was part of the 65^th  birthday celebration of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America organization. The celebration included a convention of 6,000 students from around the country to celebrate the decades of successes of the group that used to be known as Future Farmers of America. 

            Kodiak's winning chefs include two recently graduated seniors: Nina Gronn and Bryce Thomas, as well as Jayse Taan who will be a senior in the fall.
