$878 Coming To Alaskans In October

Brianna Gibbs/KMXT

The moment Alaskans look forward to each year has finally arrived; yesterday the Alaska Department of Revenue Permanent Fund Dividend Division announced just how much Alaskans can look forward to receiving from this year’s PFD. The dollar amount for the 2012 PFD is $878, significantly less than last year’s $1,174. The announcement came roughly three weeks before checks will be distributed; those eligible for the PFD can look forward to a trip to the bank come October 4.

Alaska does not have a state income tax, but residents who receive the PFD must report it for federal taxes, those forms and additional information about this year’s PFD is available online at pfd dot Alaska dot gov. The PFD is distributed to Alaska residents who have lived in the state for more than one calendar year, residents can check their PFD filing status online.
