Kodiak COVID Count: 4th COVID death reported; 2nd in three days

Another COVID-19 death has been reported today in the Kodiak Island Borough, three days after the last death.

According to the Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization, 41 new COVID cases have been reported for the Kodiak island borough. These cases included 9 community transmission cases 29 close contact cases and 3 travel related cases.

This brings the total case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough to 723 cases, with 207 cases classified as active locally.

To date there have been 4 deaths and 31 local hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the community, with six patients currently hospitalized in Kodiak.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
