$17.5-Million For Kodiak All Federal Funds

Jay Barrett/KMXT

In the current Alaska capital budget, the one passed by the State Senate over the weekend, there are over $21-million in projects for House District 32, which includes Kodiak, Cordova and Seldovia.

However, every one of those 21,100,000 dollars are being passed-through from the federal government. Not a penny of state money is included for the three projects approved by the Senate.

They include $10.1-million for major improvements to the Cordova airport, including the apron, taxiway and general aviation facilities.

On Kodiak Island, $7-million is earmarked for response to erosion on the Chiniak highway, and an even $4-million is dedicated to reconstruct Otmeloi Way.

The Alaska House is scheduled to take comments on the budget starting at 6 p.m. Monday evening.
